Looking for great mouth-watering spanokopita in Seoul? Well, you are not going to find it at Santoroni's in Itaewon. While their baklava is dang near perfect, their other Greek dishes need some work.
However, if you are just dying for the Greek flavor, let me show you some of their dishes!
The Greek salad. All the ingredients were there (minus any sort of dressing!), but the chunks were so big it was more like eating individual parts than a cohesive salad.
The "Spanakopita". This should have been an amazing spinach and feta pie. But alas, it was flavorless spinach, and no feta. Not at ALL what Spanakopita should be.
Fried Zucchini. Good- needed salt and fairly greasy, but- still decent. Especially with the yogurt dipping sauce.
Yes, hidden on the backside of this plate is a big ole pile of meat- but disregard those for a moment and look at he potatoes. My dining partner and I loved these- but just like the fried zucchini- they were greasy.
Worth another visit? Well, I guess everyone restaurant deserves a 2nd chance, and if everything else on the menu fails, at least they have their fantastic baklava.
